There are racing game, which some run on PC’s and some on other game platforms like XBOX, or PlayStation PS2/PS3, I am reviewing the games without the classification of which platform they are running on, since the games are the same, only the way we play and on what we play are different. I prefer the PC platform for racing games, but it is only my opinion, some might find the game pads of a PlayStation more suitable for racing games.

I described the racing games I enjoyed much lately, as I love racing games, both racing cars and motorcycles. So here are some of my recommendations:

• GRID – This is a great racing game, with quality graphics, and amazing realistic feel. The game will give your blood a good rush, as you drive powerful race cars. You race through racing events, from drifting, to circuit runs and into street racing competitions. The racing cars include prestigious cars like Aston Martin, Koenigsegg, Pegani and others. Races go through different cities and view, among them are San Francisco, Washington DC, Detroit where you can boost your V8 muscle cars to their limits. This game is very enjoyable and will take much of your time if you choose to get behind the wheels of this game’s cars. Night races are a bit tricky as the colors and lights get you confused, so stay focus and you might finish the race in the first place 

• Need for speed – (Most Wanted, Underground, Undercover, Shift) – Need for Speed was always one of my favorite racing games behind the wheel of a car. The game play inspires you to start blazing across streets following the storyline, and beat anyone at any race. The graphics are amazingly great, the drifting against your joystick/game-pad feels real, as you cut corners with screeching tires. There where need for speed games that included police chases, with road blocks and much excitement as they try to close on your amazingly fast car. These games feel like the real thing, like you are the racing driver from hell who goes wild everywhere and beat everyone, while keeping your cool. I guarantee that you will enjoy the “Need for Speed” game series immensely, give it a try, you won’t regret it, they are just getting better and better.

• DIRT 2 – DIRT is one of the most enjoyable games for those of you who like to get off road to race uncharted dirt roads, and blaze through corners as your rear end is sliding like crazy to keep up with your fearsome driving. You can easily do corner drifting since the roads are slippery, and dirt is just sliding under your speeding wheels. You will feel as if you are on the dirt roads, raising huge clouds of dirt behind you as you fight your way to beat the clock, and your opponents. Anyone who like off road driving will love this game, much thrill as you try to ride those slippery dirt roads at crazy speeds.

• MOTOGP 08 – This is a great racing game for motorcycle fans. This game has great graphics, great views and roads, while you go across different roads, tracks and racing grounds. The handling is pretty amazing, as you get your bike sideways while blazing through corners to go pass your opponents and come first. You can feel the speed, and it almost feels real. You can choose to race 125cc and 250cc or just crazy with the MOTOGP class as you blaze at crazy speeds along the race tracks.

• Colin McRae Rally 04 – This game is one of the best dirt rally racing. The realism is amazing, the driving feel is great, as you blaze through rally terrain and roads, trying to beat the clock and come ahead of your opponents who do exactly the same. The hardest tracks are those roads that go through forests, as you blaze in great speed across the roads, if you miss your breaking point, getting close and collide into a tree is almost can’t be avoided, unless you got lucky . Since you’re playing against the clock, you just have to try and drive on the edge, as you use your whole focus on doing any corner at the highest speed; sometimes it is not as easy as it looks. Even with those last remarks, the game is amazing, and very enjoyable. The graphics are so real you might think you’re feeling the gravel go into your shirt and burn holes in your body. I recommend this game, for anyone who wants to feel the thrill of a fast dangerous racing drive.

• SBK-09 Superbike World Championship – The SBK (Super Bike) series are a great way to enjoy a good motorcycle racing game. This racing game is suitable both novices and experienced racers. You can crank the bike, to improve its abilities and performance as you race through the circuits. The graphics are great, realism is not too bad. The game is impressing but doesn’t go over the roof 

• Gran Turismo 4 – (PS2) – This game is one of the most played racing games for the PlayStation PS2. This game has been using race tracks realism. The race tracks you are using on the game where taken piece by piece from the real racing tracks around the world. This GT4 game, has great feel, and realism (I said that already) as you play the game because it was designed to simulate real race tracks, real race cars, and give the effect the race drivers go through, this game is as close to the real thing, there wasn’t any other computer racing game that achieved such accuracy in race game simulation. In case you had the chance of driving a car through the German racing track – the “Nürburgring”, then you will find that every road sketch that is placed on that racing track is showing on the race track on the PS2 GT4 game. That is amazing.
